Europe Nutraceuticals market is valued at USD41.95 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.88% to reach USD58.5 billion in 2024.

There is a growing trend in customized nutrition, people are making dietary changes to improve their health. With the increase in life expectancy and subsequent increase in lifestyle-related diseases, nutraceuticals have emerged as a necessity for European region. The major players within Europe are Nestle SA, The Kelloggs Company, Herbalife International of America Inc., Amway and The Coca-Cola Company.

According to the most recent Ageing Report conducted by the Ageing Working Group of the Economic Policy Committee (EPC) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) in 2018, the ageing population in European countries is recorded at an incredibly high rate. Even though the EU population is expected to increase to 520 million by 2070, the total number of the working age population will decrease from 333 million in 2016 to 292 million in 2070. This will increase the population to pay more attention on long-term healthcare and spend more on healthcare products. The report also indicated that the expenditure on healthcare with the EU population could increase from 8% of total GDP in 2000 to 14% in 2030.
